The longer this news wears on me, the more it hurts. I loved his writing, but I never got much of a handle on the man. Some did, and now they are telling it, and it brings me down.

Poor, twisted bastard: I loved his writing.
Don’t let the truth about his life get you down, L. Some people, although they may be gifted, can be hard to like as people.
Either way, the loss will be felt.
